With flat-top roof installation, most applications tend to end with the same result. There are 3 main options we use in our flat-top roof installations. 1) Built-Up Roof is the traditional way of flat top roof installation, using hot tar and was popular with most construction and contractors at one time. 3 layers of tar are between waterproof material. Then blasting the top with gravel pebbles to get it more rugged. This application is very messy and tends to be more maintenance. 2) Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer or EPDM roofs are made from rubber. This flat top roof installation is the easiest and cheapest to maintain. However, the material is suceptable to punctures and cracks. 3) Modified Bitumen- involves layering a mineral based shield on to the flat top roof. The material is rolled on and usually torched down. You can pick a peel and stick type roll for less of a mess.
